EYFS have been blending the sounds in simple words to read them, as well as writing the letters l and i using cursive writing. They have also been listening and recalling what they have learnt.
Year 1 have been working really hard on their amazing handwriting. They have continued to explore traditional tales including the stories Jack and the Beanstalk and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Year 2 have been working really hard at writing seaside stories as well as character and setting descriptions for the Katie Morag stories.
Year 3 have been reading some classic Roald Dahl stories including George's Marvelous Medicine and writing their own version of the story. They also really enjoyed making their own Roly Poly Bird and writing a description of Willy Wonka's chocolate room.
Year 4 have been writing an exciting fantasy story involving a portal. They have also been exploring the author David Walliams and have written a story in the style of 'The World's Worst Children.'
Year 5 have been reading a version of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. They have been exploring the old fashioned language and thinking about the different characters' personalities and relationships. They are writing their own chapter in the style of the story.
Year 6 have been creating atmosphere using figurative language including personification. They have also been comparing and identifying different text genres.
